Microwave drying

By using microwave drying Krüger is able to achieve within a few days what would normally take weeks or even months. Horn antennas emit microwaves. These couple into the water molecule and cause it first to vibrate and then to evaporate. During this process a substantial vapour pressure is generated which is released via the surface of the material.

This drying method is particularly suited to

  • preserve valuable cultural assets and materials,
  • save shutdown or rent costs,
  • dry solid natural stone constructions etc.,
  • accelerate and complement conventional drying methods,
  • restore religious artefacts.
