These humidifiers heat water in a cylinder to generate steam which is then discharged into the room via a fan or distribution tube. The water is either heated by immersion electrodes or resistance heating elements.
Steam humidification is particularly clean as minerals and dirt remain in the steam cylinder. However, energy consumption is relatively high.
